ASANTE SANA!!

Title translation from Kiswahili: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

This past Sunday was the fundraiser for my journey with Jesuit Volunteer Corps.  After speaking at three churches in the Atchison and Doniphan county area and finding myself posted on the front page of the Atchison Globe with an article about my journey, I am extremely blessed to receive so much  from my community and all of those who could attend the fundraiser!

It will be a few days still until the totaled donations appear on My Fundraising Page, but I am too overcome with gratitude to delay posting this any longer!

THANK YOU for supporting me!!

Check back soon for more posts with my thoughts pre-departure.  Just three months to go!

KARIBUNI SANA!

[A big welcome to you all!]

This blog serves to share insights, stories, and reflections of what I experience as a Jesuit Volunteer in Dodoma, Tanzania.  I just came back from Orientation in Scranton, New Jersey and have been filled with new information and perspectives for contemplation as I begin this journey.  I leave for Tanzania in December and I am so grateful to have the next four months to continue reflecting on the values of Jesuit Volunteer Corps and spend time with family and friends before I leave the U.S. for two years.  This is the first of many posts to come; I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
